First European Grand Voyage part of Silversea’s largest-ever itinerary

Five new Grand Voyages, including a first ever European Grand Voyage, feature in luxury cruise operator Silversea Cruises 2022-2023 itinerary, its largest ever with 315 voyages calling in 669 destinations in 114 countries.

Silversea’s five new Grand Voyages for 2022-2023 include:

  • Silversea’s first-ever European Grand Voyage

Connecting the Mediterranean Grand Voyage and the Northern Europe Grand Voyage, Silversea’s first-ever European Grand Voyage will depart from Piraeus (Athens) on March 30, 2022. Travelling aboard the Silver Moon, Silversea’s guests will explore 72 destinations in 22 countries over 90 days, enjoying seven exclusive events and eight overnights in iconic cities—including Istanbul, Sorrento, Bordeaux and Saint Petersburg, among others—before arriving in Stockholm on June 28. Prices start at $43, 110 for a Vista Suite.

“I find the idea of combining the two grand voyages spectacular,” said Fernando Barroso de Oliveira, Silversea’s Senior Cruise Director “We’re giving you the entire Mediterranean at the right time of the year. You’ve got the Ottoman Empire, you’ve got Spain, you’ve got the history of the world right there. And then from Lisbon, why not stay for the continuation to Northern Europe? We’ll have the opportunity of seeing Russia at its best: St. Petersburg. To see Scandinavia and then of course, you’ve got the added beauty of Iceland.”

The 3-month-long voyage traversing Europe’s coastlines will also be a heaven for food lovers as the voyage will take place aboard the brand new Silver Moon, home to the innovative culinary program Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) that features regionally inspired menus that change daily, and the S.A.L.T. Lab, a hands-on test kitchen, that will introduce travelers to each destination’s fresh ingredients through classes, demonstrations and talks.

“It will be something completely new to us. Onboard the ship, we’re going to have the possibility of tasting dishes from all the countries we’re visiting,” said Barroso de Oliveira. “The great thing about this itinerary is that you’ve got endless choices. You’re in Italy? Spectacular pasta, pizza… You go right across and you are in Valencia, where you’ve got the paella valenciana. So the entire itinerary offers different things, and important things.”
